Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) affects 90.000 inhabitants in Europe every year. Half of the patients will have died within 3 months. Progress with regard to diagnosis and treatment can only be made by combining the efforts of researchers and clinicians from several countries. To overcome these difficulties and to achieve significant progress we have created a Network on Intracerebral Hemorrhage at a European level.
The aims of EURONICH are:
to improve the prognosis of patients with ICH conducting clinical trials to establish early treatment.
to improve in- and pre-hospital diagnostics,
to understand the dynamics of ICH occurrence and expansion,
Research on ICH will impact other health problems as hypertension, secondary prophylaxis of myocardial infarction and stroke.
EURONICH was founded in 2010 by researchers with special expertise in clinical trial and basic research in the area of ICH and ischemic stroke.
